Our mission is to provide excellent instruction in traditional shotokan karate and to pass on the teachings of the late Shihan Robert Halliburton.  We are active members of the Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF) through our national organization, Shotokan Karate International - United States Federation (SKI-USF).

• Order Sweatshirts and T-Shirts!  You may order at the dojo or by using this form. 

• SKIF Books Available through the Dojo!  We have ordered several of the SKIF karate books and these are available to our students at a discount!  These include The Complete Kata (this is a new book), Black Belt Karate, and Karate fighting techniques.  Quantities are limited.  See Sensei Wong or Senpai Richard Sorsky for details.

• Sparring will now be occasionally incorporated into the General and Advanced classes.  All students should bring a mouthpiece and male students should wear a cup to every class.  Students are encouraged to bring their own sparring gear (gloves, foot guards, and head gear) to class as well.

• In addition to bo, the other traditional weapons (sai, tonfa, kama) will be taught at Japan Ways during the Wednesday weapons class.  See Sensei Wong to order your weapons.

• Kanazawa No Bo DVDs still available.  Kancho Kanazawa has produced a DVD showing 2 versions of a bo kata that he has developed, Kanazawa no Bo Dai and Kanazawa no Bo Sho, as well as a bo version of the kata Jitte.  This DVD shows the kata from several angels as well as their applications and are very informative.  The DVDs are available at the dojo for $50 (tax included).  See Sensei Wong if you would like a copy.  Only a few copies remain!
